Google has launched Cardboard Camera for Android, an app that lets you take 3D virtual reality photos with a smartphone. The photos can be viewed on Google's Cardboard VR headset.
It seems that Google is continuing to strongly support the Cardboard virtual reality technology that it launched about a month ago. That's why it hasn't stopped at just being able to view 3D photos and videos from the media that the company uploads, but it also gives you the advantage of creating your own and sharing them with other users.
Taking a photo with the new app is simple: just hold your phone steady and then move it around in a circle. To see the photo you took, place your phone in the Cardboard VR headset and look at the 3D panoramic photo you took.
The 3D technology is based on the fact that the application shows you two photos at a time that have a slightly different perspective for your left and right eyes, allowing you to distinguish the third dimension of the horizon.
In addition, the application can also record audio to allow you to listen to the sounds of the environment or your own pronunciation while viewing the photos.
You can download Google's Cardboard Camera app for free from the Google Play store .
