In a previous post, we reported that the upcoming Windows 10 Threshold 2 update is scheduled to be released next week. Microsoft has reportedly completed development of the update ahead of its official release on November 10.
According to a report by Neowin, Microsoft has already completed the development of Windows 10 Threshold 2, which it calls the November Update. The company is now checking the distribution system to make sure the process goes smoothly for all users.
Windows 10 Threshold 2 will be distributed like any other update, via Windows Update. Unlike new builds of Windows 10, this version will not install the operating system from scratch.
It's worth mentioning that Windows 10 Threshold 2 is specifically aimed at RTM users (if we can call it RTM), so if you're enrolled in the Windows Insider program you won't find any new features in this version.
*We mention RTM in quotes as the term does not seem to make sense since the launch of Windows as a service, since the operating system will be under continuous development.
However, those who have installed the supposed RTM of Windows 10 (build 10240) will discover several new features, and many improvements that have been developed over the past few months.
Microsoft, on the other hand, to make the process faster and easier for everyone, will make the operating system available for pre-installation on all new computers sold with Windows 10.
The company has not yet confirmed the release date for Windows 10 Threshold 2, but it is very likely that we will get it next week with Patch Tuesday.
