If you are already using Windows 10, you will know that Microsoft does not publish exactly what comes to your computer with the updates, except for some very brief references of the type “performance improvements.”
Thus the majority of users running Windows 10 criticized Microsoft for this sudden change, especially because they always want to have full control over the updates they install on their systems (we ask for a lot;), which sometimes could cause more harm than good.
However, as it appears, Microsoft got the message, and the head of the Windows division, Mr. Terry Myerson, said that the company is preparing to change policy and to provide its customers again with the change logs for each updated version of Windows 10.
“As an example of the immediate response to the feedback we have received, it will be the improvement of our documentation on what each updated version is going to change, as well as the improvement of programming options when updates are installed. This collaboration with the Insiders is valuable for our team, and we will continue to welcome anyone who wants to collaborate with us for the future of Windows 10,”
Myerson said.
Let's see what will happen in the future then, as Mr. Myerson did not commit to any timeline.
With the announcement of “America” by Mr. Myerson, the company seems to have selectively understood the importance of transparency. The rollback in this particular behavior of Windows 10 was somewhat expected. However, the behavior that “burns” such efforts of the company is the collection of its customers' data on its servers.
It could very well process the data voluntarily provided by Windows Insiders, leaving out of this logic users who can choose to block telemetry.
No, we won't say thank you, Mr. Myerson, for the obvious…
