MMD, a technology company and brand license partner of Philips Displays, introduces a new 27-inch monitor with Moda design and Ambiglow Plus Stand. Ambiglow Plus technology emits light above and around the stand that synchronizes with the display image to create a more immersive viewing experience.
The light is available even when the screen is off, so users can adjust the color and brightness and create a distinct room atmosphere. With widescreen images
Lighting that captivates with the Ambiglow Plus Base
Ambiglow Plus Base creates ambient lighting for every moment. Users can adjust the colors to their preference – for example, refreshing blue during the day, a warm glow in the afternoon or a magical atmosphere at night. And if users don’t want to choose, they can simply let the display cycle through the color spectrum. By setting a timer, Ambiglow Base can also be automatically activated for a welcome or wake-up call and deactivated at night.
But Ambiglow Plus is much more than just an elaborate lamp. Users can also choose to synchronize the colors with the scene unfolding on the screen. Explaining the technology, Artem Khomenko, Product Manager EMEA for Philips Displays at MMD, says: “The fast processor in the Ambiglow Plus Base analyzes the incoming image and adjusts the color and brightness of the lighting in real time. The result is an even more immersive and intense viewing experience that takes color and vibrancy beyond the screen itself.”
Award-winning design
The 27-inch Moda monitor with Ambiglow Plus stand has been honored with a 2015 Computex d&i award for its unique combination of design and user experience. With a focus on understated elegance, the Moda design complements without dominating your home or office space. With a 360-degree design, the monitor looks beautiful from all angles, whether powered on or off. The edge-to-edge glass and narrow bezel – ultra-thin at just 3.5mm versus the more common 1.5mm – create a seamless, elegant look that prevents any distractions from your viewing experience.
“The d&i award is a great recognition for the display,” continues Artem Khomenko. “To win one of these coveted awards, products must meet strict criteria in terms of, for example, innovation, creativity, build quality and choice of materials. We are delighted that the new display has earned such a positive distinction from the judges.”
Image performance for greater productivity
The striking design is combined with the excellent performance of the display. The Full HD resolution ensures a sharp image and the AH-IPS LCD technology gives the display an ultra-wide viewing angle with vivid high-contrast images even at the edges. With Flicker-Free technology, the display minimizes flickering phenomena that although often go unnoticed, the negative impact of screen flicker accumulates over time, causing eye fatigue and reducing productivity and enjoyment. Flicker-Free technology keeps the display consistently powerful.
Ease of use
The Ambiglow Plus Base features an intuitive touch strip for selecting functions and colors with easy-to-learn touch gestures. The new display also features Philips’ well-established Smart technologies for excellent image performance: SmartContrast automatically adjusts colors and backlight intensity to improve contrast in digital images and videos. There is also a special Economy mode for optimal viewing of everyday business applications and lower power consumption.
Additionally, SmartImage automatically analyzes the image users are viewing and offers a range of application-specific feature options. And 5ms SmartResponse automatically boosts display response times for gaming or video to eliminate motion blur, time-lag and ghosting – for lifelike visuals that are further enhanced when the Ambiglow Plus Base is color-synchronized with the display.
The new Philips 275C5QHGSW/00 monitor will be available in major electronics stores in early November at a suggested retail price of €389.
