Google officially unveiled its new gadgets today. The new Nexus devices are here. Google unveiled the Nexus 5X and 6P.
The Nexus 6P comes with a 64-bit processor, USB Type-C, a 12.3 MP camera, an 8 MP selfie shooter, and a fingerprint sensor that the company calls “Nexus Imprint.” Its display is 5.7 inches. The camera uses laser-sensing technology for autofocus during daylight and low light, and it can shoot 4K video.
The device will ship with the new Android Marshmallow and will have new improved notifications. The company said that the number of pre-loaded apps has been reduced.
For those of you who don't want such a huge screen, the new Nexus 5X comes with a 5.2-inch one.
The device's features are similar to those of the 6P. Both phones will feature an "Android Sensor Hub," which will be able to detect ambient light, gestures, and motion.
This technology is designed to help improve battery life, as Google says there will be up to 30% more performance especially when the screen is off.
Both phones are available for pre-order starting today on the Play Store in the US, UK, Ireland and Japan. The Nexus 5X starts at $379 and the 6P starts at $499, and the company says it will be available fully unlocked starting in October.
