Ashley Madison CEO resigns

Noel Biderman, founder and CEO of Ashley Madison, resigned today following the recent hack.

The news comes in the form of a short statement from Ashley Madison's parent company, Avid Life Media (ALM), which adds that for now the company will be run by "existing senior executives."ASHLEY MADISON CEO

As for the reasons for the change, ALM only stated that it was done in the best interest of the company and to support its existing members and employees.

He also reiterated that he is cooperating with law enforcement to identify the hackers who carried out the attack on Ashley Madison.

Of course, such a move or a similar one from the company was expected, since it wishes to regain the trust of its audience.

Below is ALM's full statement:

Effective today, Noel Biderman, in consultation with the company, is stepping down as CEO of Avid Life Media and is no longer with the company. Until a new CEO is appointed, the company will be led by the existing management team.

This change was made in the best interest of the company and allows us to continue to provide support to our members and dedicated employees. We remain steadfast in our commitment to our customer base.

We are committed to protecting our members' privacy from criminals. We will continue to provide access to our unique platforms around the world for our members.

We are working with international law enforcement authorities in an effort to bring those responsible for the theft of our member data and business information to justice.
