Despite all eyes now on Windows 10, which is expected to debut next week, Microsoft is still very much focused on the commerciality of its hardware, and so yesterday the company introduced a new ad for its Surface 3 tablet.
The promotional video is aimed at the upcoming school season that will begin in September and thus highlights some of the device's best features aimed at students, including the digital pen, OneNote, and many more that could help and make learning and teaching easier.
The Surface 3 runs Windows 8.1, but like all other devices powered by that version of the operating system, it qualifies for a free upgrade to Windows 10 when the new operating system becomes available.
Microsoft also plans to ship the Surface 3 with Windows 10 pre-installed, but there's no timeline yet for that.
It does, however, state that, on July 29, you can get the Surface 3 from the Microsoft Store with Windows 10 pre-installed by qualified personnel completely free of charge.
