Microsoft has just released Windows 10 build 10061 to users subscribed to the Windows Insider program's fast update channel, distributing another pre-release with improvements ahead of the BUILD developer conference that begins next week.
Windows 10 build 10061 first appeared via Windows Update to a small number of users last week, but only Microsoft employees were able to download it. Today, the company made it available to everyone enrolled in the Windows Insider program for fast updates.
Build 10061 comes with the new updated Mail and Calendar apps that were already leaked from build 10056. Both new apps have a much more modern look that is closer to the new UI of the operating system.
Additionally, there are several improvements to the Start menu, taskbar, action center, and a new dark theme to change the look of Windows. Microsoft currently ships Windows 10 with the dark theme set by default.
There are also several improvements that are not as obvious, but those who use touch screens will definitely notice them. The new operating system can work better with multiple desktops that allow you to move open windows from one desktop to another.
As usual, the new build is available via Windows Update. Those who want the ISOs for a clean install will have to wait until the company makes them available sometime this month, when the new version is also ready for the Windows Insider Slow Channel.
