Microsoft announced today that Adobe has contributed to Project Spartan , adding improvements to layout, typography (fonts), animation, and graphics.
Adobe's Web Platform team has made its first contribution to the latest version of Windows 10, providing a feature for CSS gradient midpoints.
It also provided full support for blending modes, for smooth operation of multiply, screen, overlay, darken, lighten, color-dodge, color-burn, hard-light, soft-light, difference, exclusion, hue, saturation, color and luminosity, just like all other browsers do.
Microsoft also said it is adding these changes internally to allow others to contribute to Adobe's Web Platform team in the spirit of "open source," even though the browser's rendering engine code remains closed.
We must admit, however, that the appearance of the news scared us at first, as no one would want a collaboration with Adobe for features like Flash, or Adobe Reader. It is known that they are among the most harmful applications that have been released in the history of the Internet.
