If someone told you that Microsoft and Google would collaborate on a major JavaScript project, would you believe it? Today the company announced this unlikely collaboration!
At the NG conference held in Salt Lake City, the Angular team announced that they are already working closely with Microsoft's TypeScript team on the development of Angular 2 as well as the change of TypeScript and other AtScripts.
TypeScript is a superset of JavaScript, which offers additional features to JavaScript.
Angular is one of the most popular JavaScript frameworks, but version two encountered difficulties as developers were unable to provide a smooth transition path from the first version of Angular to accommodate a number of significant changes in the new version.
That's why Google and Microsoft will be collaborating on such a large project. This shows once again that Microsoft is lagging behind but slowly opening up and giving back to open source, as TNW.
