Secryptor: While it's better to keep your sensitive files only on your local computer (and even better if it's not connected to the internet) than to store them in the cloud, sometimes you can't do that.
You might need to share a file with another person who happens to live in another city or country, or you just want to have backup copies of your files to have on your next business trip.

Secryptor is a new program for Windows Mac, as well as for mobile devices (iOS and Windows Phone, Android fans will have to wait a little longer). You can use it to encrypt any file on your system with just a few clicks. What makes it interesting is its integration and cooperation with Dropbox. After you have chosen to encrypt a file, you will be asked where you want to save it.
You can save it locally, or on Dropbox. Once you save a file from Secryptor to Dropbox, you can access it with your own encryption key, or share a download code with others so they can also download and decrypt the file using Secryptor.
What is quite interesting is that the code you use to download is different from the password you have chosen to encrypt the file. According to the company that developed the application, passwords are not stored in the cloud. For added security, the company says that it only stores metadata in its European data centers. The program uses AES 256 to encrypt the file.
The Secryptor app offers two features that make it very interesting for some users. The first is its support for mobile devices, and the second is its seamless integration with Dropbox.
The program is not at all comparable to True Crypt which offered more features, but if all you want to do is encrypt a few files, you might need it. Just remember that you will have to encrypt all the files individually, while programs like True Crypt encrypt entire folders that contained multiple files.
