Outlook it excels in those two features.
Outlook has several interesting add-ons with which we can increase the functions and reduce the separate programs that we have to open each time to do certain things. For example, the simplest add-on is the Hotmail Connector (which has not changed its name despite the change of Hotmail to Outlook.com). As its name suggests, this add-on allows us to use Microsoft's cloud e-mail through Outlook. Versions 2003, 2007 and 2010 are supported and all we have to do is enter our account information in Outlook.com. Then all our e-mail will be downloaded and we will see it in the program as a second Inbox.
Another interesting and very useful addition is the Social Connector. This also supports versions 2003 to 2010 (Outlook 2013 has all of these built-in) and allows us to connect Windows Live, SharePoint, and popular third-party services, such as Facebook and LinkedIn, within Outlook. In fact, if we install the Social Connector on the View tab of the Ribbon, a new icon titled People Pane will appear. We select Normal and notice that in each incoming e-mail a small area appears at the bottom, which shows the activity of the specific sender in the services and social networks that we have connected.
