In April, and with a retail price of 129 euros, the Nokia X, one of the three models of the first smartphone series developed by the Finnish company with a variant of Android, will arrive in Greece.
Along with the Nokia X+ and Nokia XL, the Nokia X was announced by the company at the Mobile World Congress. Like the other two models in the series, its design is quite reminiscent of the Lumia series of devices, which are based on Windows Phone. The smartphone accepts two SIM cards and has a 4-inch touchscreen (resolution 800 x 480 pixels), a dual-core Qualcomm 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM.
Its camera has a resolution of 3 Megapixels, while it also has a built-in GPS receiver and a microSD card slot, allowing its storage space to be expanded by up to 32 GB.
The Nokia X uses a modified version of Google's operating system, which means that the interface has been developed by Nokia, referring to the characteristic "tiles" of Windows Phone. Also, the basic Google services (e.g. Google Drive, maps) are absent from this version of Android, having been replaced with corresponding services from Nokia and Microsoft (Onedrive, Nokia Here).
It does not provide access to Google Play, the official Android app store, but to an online app repository created by Nokia. Users will also be able to download apps from existing alternative Android app stores, such as Yandex.
