What is Hack4Med?
Do you have an idea for a web or mobile technology application that will provide a solution to problems related to tourism, culture, energy, agriculture or the environment? Take part in Hack4Med , which will be held simultaneously in five European countries as part of the HOMER (Harmonizing Open data in the Mediterranean through better access and Reuse of public sector information www.homerproject.eu) and claim one of the prizes that will be awarded to the winners at national and international level.
When & Where?
The Hack4Med programming marathonwill start on Friday, May 16, 2014 and will end on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the University of Crete facilities in Voutes, Heraklion.
The organization of Hack4med will be preceded by Creative Workshops with the aim of both attracting participants and publicizing the event, as well as recording possible problems, which will be the subject of the applications.
The first Workshop was held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Youth Center - Polykentro, in Heraklion, Crete.
Who is it addressed to?
Hack4Med is aimed at programmers, students, researchers, graphic designers, web developers, as well as people interested in issues of technological exploitation of open data in the sectors of tourism, energy, culture, agriculture and the environment.
Why participate?
You will have the opportunity to compete alongside other participants from other European countries (Spain, Malta, Italy, Montenegro, France) and claim international visibility for your work as well as one of the Hack4Med awards at both the national and international levels.

– Send a brief description of your idea and the team that will participate in Hack4Med to the email: hack4med@ucnet.uoc.gr
– All ideas will be registered on the IdeaScale platform and put to vote for 40 days. The open data that you should try to make the most of to participate in the coding marathon will be available soon on the following portals:
