Merkel is preparing the European Internet… Should we be happy?

Angela Merkel Finally, Angela Merkel may be very useful to us. It seems that after the revelations that the NSA was closely monitoring her mobile phone, the chancellor began to think very seriously about the issue. As reported by e-pcmag.gr, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, together with French President François Hollande, are planning to create a European Internet network away from the “nets” of the NSA and the USA.

Initial information indicates that the French President is positive about such a move, while Germany has also found an ally outside of Europe, with Brazil being the first to declare its desire to participate, wanting to stay away from the eyes of the US and the NSA.

Of course, the German Chancellor has given us plenty of reasons not to trust her. Let's not forget that not long ago, a group of hackers and a human rights organization filed a lawsuit against the German government for conducting illegal espionage activities and aiding the National Security Agency (NSA) and its British counterpart GCHQ.

The groups accuse the German government, led by Chancellor Angela Merkel, of “illegal and prohibited secret intelligence activities, complicity and collaboration in their activities, violation of the right to privacy and obstruction of justice” for their collaboration with the NSA and GCHQ, according to the CCC press release.

So it would be a good idea to think very carefully before rejoicing over this potential move by Merkel, as whoever has the information will dominate.
