Microsoft just announced that multi-factor authentication is now available for all Office 365 users, after the debut it made in June 2013, which concerned only administrators.
The new option will be offered to all users at no additional charge or registration. It will also include multiple options, including mobile and landline phone calls or text messages, app notifications and one‑time codes that appear in apps.
The company explains that, once the user enables multi-factor authentication, they must configure the second authentication factor on their next login. With each subsequent login, it is enforced and the use of the password and the recognized phone will be required.
