Modular Robotics, a Boulder-based company, plans to release a robot kit that will allow you to build any kind of robot you want, without any programming required.
The kits, called MOSS, come in three different sizes. The largest of these contains pieces to build your own robot, in various shapes and sizes. All are made of plastic that fits around several magnets and bearings, allowing you to assemble a robot just like you would with Lego.
The company also plans to release an app to control these semi-autonomous constructs. After installing the app, the software will let you direct the robot from your smartphone or tablet. According to the company's Kickstarter, you'll be able to customize these actions.
MOSS requires no computer programming knowledge, Eric Schweikardt, CEO and design director of Modular Robotics, told Mashable.
The company has published the project on Kickstarter, seeking funding, and it seems that the money has already been saved and the project will begin to be released on the market in February 2014.
