One of the last things 19-month-old Mia McKoy-Phanthavongsa did was smile in a photo uploaded to Facebook .
Her father, 22-year-old Merrick McKoy, then shot her and then turned the gun on himself.
“I told you I can’t live without you lol you thought I was joking now Mia and I are getting out of here,” he wrote on the social media site shortly before the murder.

McKoy's Facebook post Monday morning came after he violated a restraining order that prohibited him from approaching the girl's mother, 21-year-old Kimphone Phanthavongsa. After he showed up at Phanthavongsa's apartment holding a gun, the mother began running toward a neighbor's house for help. They alerted authorities, who arrived shortly after, but McKoy managed to take a photo with his daughter before shooting her in the head.
McKoy attempted suicide, but apparently failed. Authorities have not yet released any information on his condition, although a family member claims he is in the hospital and on life support, as reported by the Daily Dot.
McKoy's second post before he shot himself reads: "Don't judge me I had no choice." "Ima miss stall lol."
