The American federation is closed today, showing once again that the USA is the land of all possibilities. All its websites are down, as well as its social media accounts.
All non-essential administrative or government services are essentially closed. Over a million people are unemployed and will not be paid for the duration of the shutdown.
Even NASA will only hold the most critical missions that occur during this period.
As of today, most US government websites have been shut down or have posted warning signs. The same is true of social media, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+ and so on.
Most official websites show a simple page stating that it is down and this is due to the budget impasse.
The USA.gov page is barely functional, but mostly to highlight the shutdown warning. There is also a link to more information about the emergency plans of all branches of government.
It's a ridiculous situation, which is ultimately paid for by the ordinary citizen, since he won't be paid for this entire time.
