Facebook, which currently has 1.15 billion users, is definitely not just for a certain type of person. It's for everyone, and the social network has a responsibility to help ensure that all of its users are safe on its site. In an era where there are quite high rates of cyberbullyingandharassment, Facebook is trying to help educate its diverse community on how to use the social network.
So today the company published the Facebook for Educators and Community Leaders Guide, a guide for educators and group leaders in general, to help adults become more supportive of teenagers and young adults.
We've all heard stories of bullying happening online. How can parents and teachers deal with such a situation?
The company is trying to provide answers with a 16-page guide that it created with the collaboration of many organizations.
The Family Online Safety Institute, WiredSafety, ConnectSafely.org, the Boy Scouts of Northern California, the U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops, and many others contributed to the creation of the guide.
