Microsoft has just released a new temporary security fix for Internet Explorerto fix a flaw that affects all versions of the company's browser, including IE11 for Windows 8.1 RTM.
Microsoft rushed the tool out due to the severity of the vulnerability.
According to the company, the vulnerability could allow remote code execution, meaning an attacker could gain access to an unpatched system.
The Fix It that Microsoft just released can be used for IE versions 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1, both in Preview and RTM versions.

Additionally, the company recommends that users in their Internet and local network settings use the “High” security zone to block ActiveX Controls and Active Scripting.
