The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is hiring “Internet Analysts.” The term “Internet Analyst” is a positive take on the term “Spy” since “Analysts” will be tasked with managing media files and monitoring social networks, communities, and forums.
The MPAA currently employs 200 people. The association was the main instigator of the shutdown of Megaupload and is now trying to do the same with the torrent search engine, Isohunt, as well as the file-hosting service Hotfile.
While the MPAA has had some success in the past, it doesn't seem to be satisfied.
The Motion Picture Association has begun hiring new people and, as TorrentFreak , it has several open positions.
The position of “Internet Analyst,” appears to be quite critical for the MPAA. Those hired for the job will work under the supervision of Senior Vice President of Content Protection Internet, Marc Miller, and will be tasked with identifying and analyzing the latest piracy trends.
As it turns out, the position involves online spying on media outlets, social networks, and other online communities. If there's any doubt, the job posting explicitly states: they'll be required to "monitor and report on social networks, communities, and forums."
