Electronic sound is produced by magnetic drivers, which are usually found in headphones and speakers. We are all familiar with the feeling of headphones in our ears. No matter how expensive we have paid for them, we have all felt some discomfort at some point.
So, a team of scientists and designers decided to invent headphones without... headphones.
In fact, the device they invented doesn't have any speakers at all. Instead, they used a "surface" audio technology that delivers sound to both ears while sitting behind the ears.
The new device called Sound Band has dual multi-directional microphones, which reduce external noise and isolate echo.
The device connects via Bluetooth and can work with Apple, iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows devices.
The new project is seeking funding via Kickstarter.
