The well-known automaker Aston Martin uses new cloud-based technologies developed by Microsoft, such as Intune, a service that is now installed on many high-performance models.
Aston Martin's head of IT , Simon Callow, spoke about Microsoft 's cloud platform at TechEd Europe 2013 , stating that Intune is a high-quality IT service and infrastructure that pairs perfectly with the quality of the cars his company builds.
“A key challenge for the IT team was managing and securing mobile computing globally,” such as mobile devices and smartphones. It would be difficult to tell whether all of these devices worldwide were running the latest software updates. So the IT team’s challenge was to figure out a way to destroy a device if it was stolen,” Microsoft said.
