The “controversy” between the most popular browsers continues , this time with a study conducted by security firm NSS Research Labs .
The company tested five of the top browsers on the market and within 28 days managed to determine which one blocks the most malware.
Internet Explorer 10 , Google Chrome 25 and 26 , Mozilla Firefox 19 , , and Opera 12 were Apple tested nearly 18,000 times to see if they could block all malicious URLs on Windows 8. The results (PDF) pretty much speak for themselves. 's Safari 5 computers
Internet Explorer 10 took first place with a success rate of 99.96% (!) and is followed by Google Chrome with 73.16 %.
Safari 5 is far behind with 10.15%, while Firefox 19 follows with 9.92%. Opera 12 is the last browser in the ranking with only 1.87%.
