Windows 7 remains the number one operating system worldwide. However, there are still many people who are running the popular operating system in the RTM version despite the release of the first service pack for this version.
In case you haven't installed Service Pack 1 yet, you should hurry up, as Microsoft is ending support for Windows 7 RTM in three days from today.
Microsoft will no longer provide patches and fixes for this version of Windows 7, starting April 9, 2013, and recommends that all users upgrade their systems by installing SP1.
For Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, support will continue normally until January 13, 2015, while extended support (with purchase of a second service pack?) will be provided until January 14, 2020.
