According to EXCLUSIVE information sent to the editorial team of SecNews and we are reporting it with all reservations, hackers brought down the website of the Central Bank of Cyprus last night with a DDoS attack! The attack was carried out as part of the OpIcarus operation, which was first announced in January and resumed in March and targets banks and financial institutions around the world.
Anonymous believes that banks and financial institutions are corrupt and to strengthen their protest against them, the war must go one step further.
The DDoS attack took place last night and the Bank's website (centralbank.gov.cy) was forced to go offline. It is not clear how long it was down, but the screenshot shared by the hackers themselves shows that it had already been down for 35 minutes. See here:

The Central Bank of Greece and the Central Bank of Cyprus were the first to be hit as part of this Anonymous operation, and according to the hacktivists, many more will follow, having also openly threatened the Bank of England and the New York Stock Exchange.
Currently, the Central Bank of Cyprus website is available again, but as the hacktivists themselves stated, they intend to attack it again in the coming days!
