Dear friends, the time has come for the first Ethihak Contest taking place as part of Infocom Security 2016!

Secnews and Infocom join forces and carry out the first real life hacking scenario! As contestants, you will compete against a live target with all that this entails in terms of difficulty! It is the first time that such a competition is held in Greece, which is confirmed by the number of participants that exceeded all expectations!!!
[alert size=”alert-block” variation=”alert-info”]The search for the first Greek Ethical hacker is a fact.[/alert]
The impetus for this competition was the misunderstood perception of both companies and the general public regarding “malicious internet fraudsters” and “hackers who plot our personal data”. We believe that this challenge will change the way both companies and institutions/organizations deal with hackers, understanding that they can be particularly useful in strengthening their systems against modern technological challenges and risks.
For example, during the competition, your actions may be addressed by the active administrator who will take countermeasures against attacks if and when they deem them necessary.
Ethihak 2016 Competition Process
To win the coveted first place – which comes with a cash prize of 1,000 Euros sponsored by the Odyssey company – the following rules must be followed:
1. One Rule: No Rules – No hints! (Think out of the box!).
2. Your goal is to attack a website and obtain as much information as possible in order to then gain access (with superuser rights) to an internal machine with a specific IP. The name of the target company, its website and some other useful first information will be made public at the start of the scenario, on Wednesday 6/4 at 10:00 exactly!
3. It goes without saying that respect for the rules of good behavior must be strictly observed : Respect your fellow participants, as you would like them to respect you (e.g. No DDoS, no rioting / wells, etc.). In case of inappropriate behavior, there will be exclusion from the competition as the space will be constantly monitored by conference staff.
4. Any attack on another company / body / organization / natural and/or legal person of any kind, domestic / foreign, etc., other than the given target company, is EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED. Violators will suffer the consequences of the law and the co-organizing companies have no responsibility.
5. During the competition you should record your steps with screenshotsand a short description and after you achieve your goals you should send the report (Proof Of Concept) to an e-mail that will be given to you on the day of the competition. The report does not need to be very detailed.
6. The winner will be the one who managed to send the first – based on the time the email was received – most complete report.
For more terms, refer to Secnews and Infocom.

As we have already mentioned, those who participate outside the Ethihak Contest facilities will have a much greater degree of difficulty, since they will have to deal with active protection measures of particularly increased complexity.
Also, during the competition, hints will be sent through the twitter account https://twitter.com/EthiHak at the start of the competition.
All questions that the contestants want to ask will be able to do so through the twitter account that will be provided! Only questions that the committee deems necessary will be answered.
At this point, we should mention that our underage participating friends are required to have written parental consent to receive the cash prize of 1000 euros, if they are crowned winners.
