The 5 top apps for saving space on Android smartphones

Here are 5 apps you can use to save valuable space for your pictures and videos on Android smartphones and tablets

There are developers who have worked hard to provide a good service and find complications in technical issues. We present some tested applications, which have received very good reviews.

Gallery Doctor:

First up is Gallery Doctor from AVG Labs. The basic premise behind this one is simple, the app detects duplicates of blurry and bad photos and then makes it super easy for you to review and delete them to free up space. Once you open Gallery Doctor, it will start scanning for photos and videos that might need deleting. And then it organizes them into categories – bad photos, similar photos, photos to review, Long Videos, WhatsApp photos and images.

ClearMeOut:

ClearMeOut is from Indivisible Industries. This Android app will definitely come in handy if you're constantly deleting files from your downloads or documents folders, as it can either automate the process or make it as simple as pressing a button. ClearMeOut doesn't exactly have a pretty design, but that's okay, because it's all about deleting files quickly, so you won't spend a lot of time on this app. To set it up, go to the Preferences menu and then select any folder you want to periodically clean up.

CCleaner:

This space -saving app has established itself as a trusted brand among Windows users, but now CCleaner from Piriform is also available on Android. Just like its PC counterpart, it’s a multi-purpose cleaner that clears out accumulated app data to free up space for the things that matter most. Once you launch CCleaner, the app will automatically scan your device for useless app caches, icons, installer APKs, and old data. Once it’s done with this scan, you’ll get a report on how much space you can save.

SD Maid:

The next entry on our list is quite similar to CCleaner, but with one big exception. SD Maid from developer Darken requires a rooted device, but that means it can save space in folders that other apps simply can't access.

Google Photos

The last Android app on our list has been around for a while, and it's not exactly known for its space-saving abilities. Google Photos is a great storage for your pictures and videos, but that also means it has the potential to save a lot of storage space.
