A new law that will require rights for republishing is shutting down Google News in Spain.
On December 16, the Google News in Spain will be closed after a new law comes into effect at the beginning of 2015 that will give journalistic organizations in Spain the right to charge Google and similar services when they republish their content or even a small excerpt from the original text.
Of course, Google disagreed with the implementation of this law, saying that it does not receive any revenue from this service, but the law was eventually passed and will come into effect on January 1, 2015.
However, in Germany, where a similar law exists, the Google News operates normally since it allows the publication of a small excerpt on this service.
