Mark Zuckerberg sees the Internet as a vital service that should be made available to the entire world – a service that can be as vital as, for example, the ability to make emergency calls on a phone.
In an article published in The Wall Street Journal, the Facebook outlined his vision for the future of universal Internet access, as well as the steps he sees to get there. Currently, only a third of the world is connected, he said, while the rest do not have access due to high costs and lack of infrastructure.
