22-year-old Ditchayabut wrote on the well-known social networking site that the red-shirt activists, i.e. the supporters of her country's former prime minister, should be executed!
Naturally, her post provoked strong reactions, mainly from fans of the Red Party, and the beauty quickly began to receive angry comments from thousands of Internet users.
So, amidst an outcry, Velure Dichayabut decided to resign.
"I made this decision on my own. I thank the judges who chose me, my parents and friends who were by my side. I also thank those who gave me comments, positive and negative," she said with tears in her eyes during a press conference at a Bangkok hotel on Monday.
