This is a survey by the site Vouchercloud that has been published by the largest sites in the world and may have been initially questioned , however the company that carried it out insists that it is completely true . According to it, the answers given, regarding various technological terms, in a multiple choice questionnaire even cause laughter in some cases.
So, it seems that 11% of Americans believe that the acronym HTML is a sexually transmitted disease, confusing the markup language used in web page structure with something much more… dangerous. However, this is not the only strange response to the survey.
Thus, 27% of respondents noted that gigabyte is a… insect from South America, 12% that USB is an acronym for a European country, 15% that software is a comfortable garment, 18% that Blu-ray is some kind of sea animal, 23% that MP3 is a robot from Star Wars and 20% that the motherboard is the deck of a cruise ship.
