"Smartphone" applications are becoming increasingly demanding in terms of the data they consume for their operation, which is collected primarily from the internet and often without the knowledge of the users.
The solution comes from the website "Know my App", which is designed to provide information about the amount of data required by Android and iOS applications and provides a list of popular software that may use much more data than users wish.
The website has been designed by CTIA – The Wireless Association, in collaboration with the developer community, and is intended for Android and iOS users.
In Know My App, users will also find a series of tips on how to reduce data usage on their devices, such as adjusting device and app settings to minimize updates, uninstalling unused apps, using Wi-Fi networks for updates, and more.
[quote]“It is important to understand how apps use data before purchasing or downloading an app, which may affect not only data usage, battery life, but also network speed
,” the website explains.
