VideoLAN has just released a new version of the famous VLC Media Player for Windows users, implementing a number of bug fixes and performance improvements.
VLC Media Player 2.1.1 was available for Ubuntu 13.10 users, but the development team today released the Windows version that supposedly fixes most of the issues reported by users in older versions, while improving the playback experience for some of the supported formats.
Just as expected, VLC Media Player 2.1.1 comes with support for all versions of Windows, including Windows 8.1.
The new packages provide fixes to recording, subtitle options, decoders, and audio output. For example, it fixes some issues with DirectSound pass-through, while also simplifying the application update mechanism for the Windows version.
Finally, this new version is clearly necessary, so you can download VLC Media Player 2.1.1 to get all the new options.
