The detection of a Wi-Fi hotspot whose name appeared to be associated with a terrorist group caused a 24-hour delay on a flight from Los Angeles to London.
Airport officials were alerted to the existence of a hotspot called the "Al-Quida Free Terror Network" and immediately took action to secure the aircraft and passengers.
It seems that the network name was a serious cause for concern, since the plane was moved to a remote part of the airport and passengers had to turn off gadgets that could connect to the suspicious hotspot.
The aircraft was isolated for three hours and an announcement from the pilot came after an hour, who advised that a security threat prevented them from taking off.
Users are free to name their Wi-Fi networks whatever they want, so even if the humorous user had been arrested, officials would have nothing against him because no crime had been committed.
There are many ways that pranksters can interfere with flight schedules, and this adds to the list. Besides the fact that it's extremely unlikely that actual terrorists would give a Wi-Fi network such a name.
