Over the next two years, lucky guests at Hilton hotels around the world will have access to a range of benefits that they can access from their Android or iOS smartphone or tablet .
Thus, they will be able to check-in at the hotel and choose their room before arriving, make upgrades, complete all the special requests they wish, but also… unlock the room from their mobile device alone. As the hotel chain announced in a relevant press release, all the new “smart” features of the privileged guests, except for the last one, will be available in more than 4,000 Hiltons around the world by the end of the year.
Within the next year, the company will begin equipping its hotels with the technology to unlock a room door from the guest's smartphone or tablet , practically allowing them to enter it without even going through the hotel reception, while the same will happen with check-out, as the bill will be automatically sent to their email (the latter feature is already available in the chain's hotels in the United States).
The ability to unlock your room from your phone or tablet will be available at Hilton hotels in the US in 2015 and, next year, in almost all hotels around the world. Technology is at the service of both hoteliers and their customers.
