5th Web World Expo – Conference will take placethe , a meeting point that combines an exhibition and a conference in the hospitable spaces of the historic Zappeion Megaron.
The conference focuses on the concept of the internet and how it affects our daily lives, but also inevitably, all professional sectors.
As the conference invitation states, today, there is no industry, space, profession, or sector that is not more or less influenced by the Internet – its presence and utilization now plays a catalytic role in the creation, dissemination, and use of a multitude of products and services, as it has completely changed the rules of the game, offering fertile ground for innovation and entrepreneurship to flourish.
This year's Web World Expo, which is being held for the fifth consecutive year, has as its main objective to inform the public (which includes people with positions of responsibility in the sectors that are most affected and benefit from the Internet, such as tourism, the media, e-shops, retail, etc.) on issues of presence and promotion of themselves and their businesses on the Web.
Compared to previous years, when its purpose was mainly to provide general information with a few more specialized interventions, this year things are changing: given the public's increasing familiarity with the Internet and its catalytic role, as well as recent technological developments (which are rapid, as is usually the case, lately in the field of Technology), the conference will be divided into three sections.
The first will focus on the Web itself and its role in our everyday lives, with what this may mean - directly and indirectly - for the entrepreneurship and competitiveness of those active at a national and international level.
The second section will focus on social media and the particularly important role they can play in the success of a campaign, but also in the reputation of the business itself, ultimately, if they are utilized in the right way and with the help of experts.
The third and final section focuses on an equally important factor, mobile telephony (or, more correctly, wireless communication, not to forget WiFi) which, with the always-on capability it provides, shapes new ways for businesses to access users, who leave behind the role of passive receiver and now interact with stimuli (see, SMS messages) that they can receive at any time.
