Search the Plants of the World online 1.113.000 plants from around the planet, with 65.800 detailed descriptions and with 191.400 images.

Gardens Botanic Gardens in London, England, houses one of the largest botanical collections in the world. Known for its preserved plant specimens, it offers its collection online, free of charge, worldwide.
The project Plants of the World online started in March 2017 and aims to transfer the 250 years of botanical knowledge it has into an open and accessible library for everyone. The database is user‑friendly and can be accessed via desktop, mobile phone or tablet.
The search results are beautifully designed and easy to understand. They usually return images, illustrations and/or samples, together with information such as the Latin name, the common name, the habit of the plants, the varieties, the appearance, their fruits, uses and other data.
However, it is not a simple plant identification database. If you are looking for information about plants and fungi, then this website is the right place. The database can be searched by species, genus, family name, characteristic or any word that describes a plant. Unfortunately, the website's language is only English.
