After unveiling it at the Apple Watch in September, Facebook has just released the version of its Messenger app for the watch.
The social network released the app for Apple Watch in an update to its Messenger app on Thursday. The update also adds support for iOS 9 features, including search and multitasking for iPads.
The watch version of the messaging app supports watchOS2, Apple's latest version of its watch software. It really tries to squeeze a lot of Messenger into it.
You can't type full replies to messages, but you can choose from a list of pre-selected responses, such as sending your location, displaying stickers, or recording a voice message with the watch's built-in microphone. On the recipient's side, you can also check photos, videos, and voice messages.
Although the app supports Facebook stickers, animated stickers and animated GIFs will only appear static on the watch.
While it's not technically Facebook's first app for the Apple Watch — the social network has also released Instagram for the Apple Watch — Messenger will be a welcome addition for many users.
For Android users, Messenger is also compatible with Android Wear. The Android Wear app, which was released earlier this year, also lets you record and send voice messages and send “likes” from your… wrist.
