The new Start menu and Cortana are two of the new features that Microsoft brought with Windows 10. At the moment and for unknown reasons, they do not work (do not open) on some computers and there is no patch to address this error.

Note: The Cortana digital assistant does not yet work for Greece.
The issue was first reported on August 4th, and despite Microsoft confirming the bug, no fix has been released yet.
However, in a statement, a company technician revealed a strange way to fix the errors.
The easiest way to fix the problem, at least temporarily, is to boot into Safe Mode and then start your computer normally, following the instructions of the Microsoft technician.
"We are aware that some customers are experiencing this error, and we are investigating it. You may be able to temporarily resolve the issue by booting into Safe Mode, and then immediately starting your computer in Normal Mode. This solution may resolve your issue temporarily, but the error may return later," the company's support technician said.
Microsoft has not yet mentioned anything about an upcoming patch via Windows Update that will fix the problem permanently.
If you're experiencing the problem, follow the company's workaround, hoping that a patch will be released soon.
