WikiLeaks strikes again! After announcing last May that it would resume operations, the WikiLeaks group has released two new batches of documents in the space of two days. The first includes 270,000 new private Sony files, followed by 70,000 official documents from the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
The first batch of documents came to complete what the hack into the company by the Guardians of Peace had already begun.
Hackers had gained access to the company's database and had even begun leaking part of it online.
The files, which have not yet been leaked, appear to be distributed by Wikileaks, which has dubbed them "Sony Files Part 2."
Compared to the first leaks after the Guardians of Peace hack in November 2014, this batch consists mainly of financial documents.
The WikiLeaks team has hinted that evidence of bribery attempts is also among the leaked files.
The release of the data coincides with the third anniversary of Julian Assange's stay in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he has taken refuge to avoid extradition to Sweden.
A few hours after the first leak of the “Sony Files Part 2”, Julian Assange’s website published another 70,000 documents, which will likely have a greater impact on the global political scene.
The files come from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Interior, and General Intelligence, and although WikiLeaks did not cite the source, the Saudi Foreign Ministry says they come from the hack carried out by the Yemeni Cyber Army last month.
Wikileaks reports that the documents include several internal and neighboring country affairs, censorship of the media both at home and abroad, and their control either through fear or bribery.
Assange also says that there are still more than 500,000 files and that most of them will be released in the near future.
