Greek professor was recognized at the Microsoft E² Educator Exchange – At the E² Educator Exchange event, which is part of the «Microsoft in Education» initiative, 60 educators from 40 countries participated. Among them was the Greek professor, Dr. Kostas Dimitriou, who is a computer science teacher at the Hellenic-American Educational Institute. The Greek educator was awarded the second place prize in the category «Learning Activity, Best Achievement, Runner Up».
The E² Educator Exchange event offers a series of professional development programs that extend to Microsoft applications, with the primary mission of providing a platform that will support teachers. Through these programs, Microsoft has managed to train more than 10 million educators worldwide since 2003.
The winners were selected after a competition, in which they worked in teams with colleagues to develop a lesson plan based on technologies . The team, which Dr. Costas Dimitriou collaborated with, developed an educational process that utilized the team and collaborative capabilities offered by Microsoft Office OneNote.
Mr. Anthony Salcito, Vice President, World Wide Education of Microsoft said:
"Dr. Costas Demetriou, as well as the other winners, emerged as the most innovative in their field, demonstrating the ways in which new technologies can bring solutions to various issues that countries may face globally. We look forward to seeing how they will apply all that they learned during the event."
