Anyone can ask Google to delete websites related to them that are irrelevant, outdated , or inaccurate.
Greeks have little interest in exercising the right to be forgotten online, that is, the ability given by the European Court of Justice to everyone to ask Google to delete websites related to them that are irrelevant, outdated, or inaccurate.
According to data collected by deasy.gr, only 1,498 applications have been submitted from our country.
Today, almost a year later, Google has received around 250,000 requests from European citizens who refer to around 900,000 websites with – according to their claims – incorrect information. Of these, 41.3% were eventually removed. Most requests come from France (52,000), Germany (43,000) and England (32,000).
It is noted that Google rejects almost 70% of requests.
