The lost suitcase game is over! Smart Luggage is coming!
In an effort to combat the very unpleasant phenomenon of the "lost suitcase", Samsonite decided to collaborate with Samsung to create the Smart Luggage, which will have built-in sensors and GPS so that the owner knows where it is at all times, and will send notifications to their smartphone if they have moved away from it.
Speaking to DailyMail, Samsonite CEO Ramesh Tainwala revealed the company's vision:
“The utopian scenario concerns the creation of a suitcase that will be permanently located 2 meters behind the owner and will automatically follow him on its own, like a programmed car. At the moment, of course, the real goal is to create a mini motor with a remote control for smart suitcases and we will gradually evolve it until we reach an automatic and autonomous system.”
