Version 1.0.0.60 for NETGEAR R6100 is ready

NETGEAR

NETGEAR released a new firmware package late last week for its R6100 wireless router model. It is version 1.0.0.60, which configures the device according to the requirements and regulations of the new standard, EN 300 328 v1.8.1 and EN 301 893 v1.7.1 .

Owners of the router in question should keep in mind that with this version, the router will still experience some issues with the Windows Media Player DLNA client, as it takes longer to receive files from a USB device, as well as some issues with traffic control.

If someone wants to upgrade their device, first of all they need to check the version of the installed firmware. Then they need to save and extract the file and connect the router and the computer with a wired connection.

Then, from the R6100 management interface (username and password required), select Advanced > Administration > Firmware Upgrade, and “Search”.

After the user selects the file “R6100-V1.0.0.60.img”, they select “Upload”, and from there the router does the rest. As with all update installations, it is important to keep in mind that we should not interrupt the installation, as this may cause various malfunctions in the device.

The new NETGEAR R6100 Router, version 1.0.0.60, is available from the company's official website, where it is recommended to download it and not from third-party sites, for better security of the device and the computer.
