According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IRIC), which is part of the World Health Organization of the United Nations (WHO), radio frequency electromagnetic fields (RF / EMF), emitted by Wi-Fi, radios, televisions, microwave ovens and mobile phones, are classified as possible causes of cancer in humans.
Specifically, as reported by research published in the Journal of Microscopy and Ultrastructure, adolescents and children are more exposed to these radio frequency electromagnetic fields (RF/EMF), mainly through the use of Wi-Fi devices.
Among the conclusions drawn from the research are the following:
- Fetuses are even more vulnerable than children.
- Mobile phones should have warnings about the dangers of overexposure to radiation
- Children absorb a greater amount of microwave radiation than adults, as children's skulls are thinner than adults' and store more radiation in brain tissue.
- The current exposure limit values are inadequate and need to be revised.
- Wireless devices are radio transmitters, not toys. Their sale in toy stores should be closely monitored.
- Teenage girls and women should not place their cell phones near their chest or head.
- Governments have issued warnings, but most of the public ignores them.
Exposure to radio frequencies/EMFs has been linked to particularly significant health risks such as brain and salivary gland cancer and breast cancer.
As scientists warn, the exposure of children and adolescents to these frequencies should be limited, while current exposure limits should be revised as they are insufficient.
