A platform for smart device users, who, based on their interests, will be able to share information that they either produce or reproduce from various sources
Cosmote contributes to the development of collaborative and personalized services for members of virtual communities (Mobile Virtual Communities), through its participation in the Wikizen research project.
Within the framework of the project, a Platform will be developed for users of smart devices (smartphones and tablets), who, based on their interests (entertainment, shopping, volunteering, hobbies, etc.), will be able to easily and directly share with other members of the community information that they either produce themselves or reproduce from various sources, such as social media and context-aware services.
The Wikizen idea is based on three main pillars:
-The creation and operation of virtual communities
-Users-members of virtual communities, who now not only use but also create content.
-Businesses that provide personalized services and targeted content to community members.
The "Wikizen" project, in which the company CyberStream Technologies and the University Research Institute of Communications and Computer Systems of the National Technical University of Athens (EPISEY) also participate, is part of the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF 2007-2013) and the Operational Program for Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship (EPAN II) and is co-financed by the National Action "Cooperation 2011".
Within the project, Cosmote is responsible for market analysis and requirements definition, testing and overall solution evaluation. The company is also involved in defining the technical specifications, system implementation and the platform’s commercialization model.
