Even as these lines are being written, Apple is struggling to meet the huge demand for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in markets worldwide, according to a report by the well-known market analysis firm Piper Jaffray on Apple .
Inventory surveys collected by analyst Gene Munster show that 56% of total demand can currently be met by existing inventory in Apple Stores. In his analysis, he believes that percentage will increase to 80% by the end of this quarter, with a smooth disposition to be achieved after December.
What is also noteworthy is that the availability of the new iPhone 6s, instead of improving, worsened this month, showing how huge demand there still is in the market.
The report also showed that the iPhone 6 is under much greater pressure to deliver to the public than the iPhone 5S last year.
The graph below is typical of the current situation.
