Microsoft 's acquisition of Acompli, a mobile app company on Android and iOS, is part of Microsoft 's effort to offer its users better email services via their mobile devices.
Microsoft's reasoning is that Acompli's application works correctly regardless of the platform it is "based on" and may be the only one someone can use for their emails. Microsoft plans to combine the application with Outlook and provide seamless email management regardless of service and operating system.
In 2014, Microsoft brought Office to the iPad and iPhone, as well as Android. These are important steps to increase user productivity regardless of the platform they use.
